WoW Forever Beta Guide
The WoW Forever beta begins September 17, 2026 and runs through October 21, 2026.
This is the first real opportunity for players to get into Forever, test the new Azeroth and discover how Blizzard’s vision actually plays.
Here’s everything you need to know about the beta.
When does the WoW Forever beta start?
The beta begins on September 17, 2026.
The announced beta period runs until October 21, 2026.
Dates and access conditions can change, so check the latest Blizzard announcements if you’re trying to join.
How do I get WoW Forever beta access?
The currently announced way to receive beta access is through one of the following:
- Skyborne Epic Pack
- Warcraft Forever Collection
The Skyborne Heroic Pack does not include beta access.
Do I need a World of Warcraft subscription?
Forever is included with a World of Warcraft Subscription or Game Time.
However, beta access is tied to the qualifying Forever packages described above.
What should I do before the beta starts?
If you’re planning to play seriously, don’t simply log in and start levelling.
Decide what you want to learn.
The beta is an opportunity to test the game and discover how Forever actually works.
Consider making a short checklist covering:
- Character creation
- Race and class combinations
- Starting zones
- Quests
- Level progression
- Talents and abilities
- Professions
- Gathering
- Crafting
- Dungeons
- PvP
- Economy
- UI and quality-of-life features
- Performance
- Bugs and inconsistencies
What should I test first?
Start with the basics.
Create a character and play through the early game normally.
Pay attention to:
- How the starting experience feels
- Quest design
- Enemy difficulty
- Experience gains
- Gear progression
- Class abilities
- Talent choices
- Profession availability
- Travel
- NPCs and dialogue
- New areas
- Changes to familiar zones
Don’t rush straight to endgame content.
One of the most interesting parts of Forever is seeing how Blizzard has changed the original levelling experience.
Should I play Skyborne?
Absolutely.
Skyborne is one of the biggest new additions to Forever and has its own starting experience on Zephras Isle.
If you’re interested in how Forever differs from the original game, playing the new race from the beginning is likely to be one of the best ways to experience those changes.
What new content should I look for?
Forever has been announced with:
- More than 1,000 new quests
- Three new zones
- Nine new dungeons
- Two new raids
- A new playable race
- New race/class combinations
- New professions and skills
- Additional world content
Not all content will necessarily be available immediately during every stage of the beta.
Should I report bugs?
Yes.
That’s one of the main purposes of a beta.
If something doesn’t work correctly, report it rather than assuming somebody else will.
Useful bug reports include:
What happened?
Describe the problem clearly.
Where did it happen?
Include the zone, dungeon, quest, NPC or other relevant location.
What were you doing?
Explain the steps that caused the problem.
What did you expect to happen?
Explain what should have happened.
What actually happened?
Describe the result.
Screenshots and video can also be extremely useful.
What should I record during the beta?
If you’re interested in helping the community understand Forever, capture things that are difficult to find in official announcements.
Examples include:
- Character creation options
- Race/class combinations
- Starting quests
- New NPCs
- New zones
- Quest rewards
- Items
- Profession recipes
- Talent changes
- Dungeon mechanics
- Raid mechanics
- Reputation systems
- Vendor inventories
- Drop rates
- Experience requirements
- Gold rewards
- New abilities
- UI changes
These details are often more useful to players than another announcement summarising the game.
Is everything in the beta final?
No.
A beta is a testing environment.
Numbers, abilities, quests, rewards, items and mechanics can change before launch.
Don’t treat every beta value as permanent.
This is particularly important when looking at:
- Class balance
- Item stats
- Experience requirements
- Drop rates
- Profession recipes
- Gold rewards
- Talent values
- Dungeon difficulty
- Raid mechanics
Should I level multiple characters?
If you have enough time, yes.
One character should be your main playthrough.
Use additional characters to investigate things you would otherwise miss.
For example:
Character 1: Normal levelling experience
Character 2: Different race/class combination
Character 3: Profession and economy testing
This gives you a much broader picture of the game.
What should I test if I’m interested in professions?
Professions deserve particular attention because Forever introduces new profession and skill content.
Look at:
- Trainer locations
- Profession requirements
- Recipes
- Material requirements
- Gathering locations
- Crafting costs
- Vendor materials
- Item quality
- Crafted gear
- Economy
- Auction House prices
Early beta information about professions could become extremely valuable once the game launches.
What about dungeons?
Forever has nine new dungeons announced.
When testing dungeons, pay attention to:
- Entry requirements
- Level requirements
- Boss mechanics
- Trash mobs
- Loot
- Quest rewards
- Difficulty
- Group composition
- Dungeon quests
- Dungeon completion rewards
Don’t just record whether a dungeon is fun.
Record information that another player can actually use.
What about raids?
Two new raids have been announced for Forever.
Raid testing may occur during specific beta events rather than being continuously available.
When raid testing becomes available, look for:
- Boss mechanics
- Roles
- Recommended compositions
- Loot
- Difficulty
- Encounter phases
- Positioning requirements
- Special mechanics
- Quest chains
- Attunements or entry requirements
What should I screenshot?
If you’re documenting Forever, screenshots are particularly useful for information that may change.
Good screenshots include:
- Character creation
- Quest text
- Quest rewards
- Item tooltips
- Talent screens
- Profession windows
- NPC vendors
- Maps
- Dungeon entrances
- New zones
- New abilities
- Reputation screens
- Character statistics
Try to capture the entire relevant interface rather than taking cropped screenshots that remove important information.
What should I NOT assume during the beta?
Don’t assume that:
Beta = launch
It doesn’t.
Don’t assume that:
Datamined = confirmed
It doesn’t.
Don’t assume that:
Something worked in Classic = it works the same way in Forever
Forever is introducing substantial changes.
And don’t assume that a popular community theory is an official feature.
How can I help WoW Forever Hub during the beta?
The best thing you can do is play normally and document what you discover.
If you discover something interesting, record:
- What you found
- Where you found it
- How you discovered it
- Whether you can reproduce it
- Screenshots or video
- Whether Blizzard has officially confirmed it
That distinction matters.
WoW Forever Hub will separate confirmed information, beta discoveries, and community speculation rather than presenting everything as fact.
What should I focus on during the first few days?
Don’t try to document the entire game.
Focus on the things players are most likely to search for.
The highest-value early information will probably include:
- How to access the beta
- Skyborne starting experience
- Race/class combinations
- Early levelling
- New quests
- New zones
- Professions
- New items
- Talents
- Dungeon information
- Bugs and problems
- Anything significantly different from Classic
As players start asking questions, those questions should determine what gets documented next.
