This FAQ will be updated as Blizzard reveals more information and players discover more during the beta.
What is WoW Forever?
World of Warcraft: Forever is a new World of Warcraft experience built around a reimagined original Azeroth.
It combines the foundations of the original game with new zones, quests, dungeons, raids, professions, character options and other additions.
It is a separate World of Warcraft experience rather than simply another Classic server.
When does WoW Forever release?
WoW Forever launches globally on November 4, 2026.
When does the WoW Forever beta start?
The public beta begins on September 17, 2026.
The currently announced beta period runs until October 21, 2026.
How do I get WoW Forever beta access?
Beta access is included with the Skyborne Epic Pack and the Warcraft Forever Collection.
The Heroic Pack does not include beta access.
Is WoW Forever free?
Forever is included with a World of Warcraft Subscription or Game Time.
There are also optional Forever upgrade packs containing additional features, cosmetics and other bonuses.
Is WoW Forever Classic WoW?
No.
Forever uses the original-style Azeroth as its foundation, but it is being expanded with new content and systems.
It is therefore best thought of as a separate experience rather than a recreation of the original Classic game.
Is WoW Forever a new expansion?
No.
Forever is a separate World of Warcraft experience alongside Modern WoW and Classic.
What is the WoW Forever level cap?
The announced level cap is 60.
Forever is designed around expanding the world while keeping the level cap at 60 rather than repeatedly raising it through traditional expansions.
What is the Skyborne?
The Skyborne are a new playable race introduced in WoW Forever.
They have their own starting experience on Zephras Isle.
Can Skyborne join the Horde or Alliance?
Yes.
The Skyborne can be played as part of either faction.
What new zones are in WoW Forever?
Forever introduces new areas as part of its expanded Azeroth.
Zephras Isle is the Skyborne starting area.
Blizzard has also announced additional new areas including Mount Hyjal and Riverglades.
More details are expected as the beta progresses.
How many new quests are in WoW Forever?
Blizzard has announced more than 1,000 new quests.
How many new dungeons are in WoW Forever?
Forever is scheduled to include nine new dungeons.
How many new raids are in WoW Forever?
Forever is scheduled to include two new raids.
What classes are available in WoW Forever?
Forever includes the familiar WoW classes while also introducing additional race/class combinations.
The complete final class and combination information will be updated as the beta progresses.
Are there new race/class combinations?
Yes.
Forever introduces additional combinations that weren’t available in the original game.
We’ll maintain a complete list as the beta reveals the final details.
Are professions changing in WoW Forever?
Yes.
New professions and skills have been announced as part of Forever.
The beta should provide much more information about recipes, gathering, crafting and the in-game economy.
Does WoW Forever have an Auction House?
An Auction House is part of the WoW experience, but the exact Forever economy and its implementation will be documented as more information becomes available.
Does WoW Forever have PvP?
PvP is part of the World of Warcraft experience, but detailed information about Forever’s PvP systems will be updated as Blizzard reveals more and the beta is tested.
Will WoW Forever have raids?
Yes.
Two new raids have been announced.
Will WoW Forever have dungeons?
Yes.
Nine new dungeons have been announced.
Does WoW Forever have Hardcore?
Blizzard has discussed Hardcore as part of Forever, but the exact rules and implementation should be confirmed before we treat specific details as final.
We’ll update this answer as the beta provides confirmed information.
Will WoW Forever replace Classic?
No.
Forever is intended to exist as its own World of Warcraft experience.
Classic and Forever are different experiences with different goals.
Do I need to buy WoW Forever separately?
No separate base-game purchase is required for normal access to Forever once it launches.
Access is included with a World of Warcraft Subscription or Game Time.
How much is the Skyborne Heroic Pack?
The Heroic Pack is an optional purchase that provides the Skyborne race and additional benefits.
Pricing and package contents can change, so check Blizzard’s current store information before purchasing.
What does the Skyborne Epic Pack include?
The Epic Pack includes the Heroic Pack contents plus:
- WoW Forever beta access
- 30 days of Game Time beginning at launch
- Additional cosmetic rewards
- Additional Invite-A-Friend Launch Codes
- Other bonuses
What is the Warcraft Forever Collection?
The Warcraft Forever Collection is a limited-time package containing the Epic Pack contents plus additional Warcraft-related games and cosmetic rewards.
It is currently scheduled to be available through January 11, 2027.
When can I reserve my character name?
Eligible players can reserve character names from:
October 27 – November 3, 2026.
Up to three characters can be created during the reservation period.
When does WoW Forever launch?
The global launch is:
November 4, 2026.
Can I play with friends?
Yes.
Forever is a multiplayer World of Warcraft experience and includes group content such as dungeons and raids.
Eligible upgrade purchases also include Invite-A-Friend Launch Codes for launch week.
What is WoW Forever actually like?
That’s the question we won’t fully be able to answer until players get into the game.
The announcement tells us what Blizzard is building.
The beta will tell us how it actually plays.
